Through The Steets Of Purani Dilli

14122006416

We started off. Pretty early. 8.30 am !!

14122006419

First stop – Karim’s. We had to reach here pretty early so that we could have our share of the  ‘heavenly’ dishes. We came here twice later that day 😀

14122006422

While searching for the ‘chor bazaar’ we found plenty of others as well.

14122006423

The bazaar had been moved so we had to walk to ITO. And we spent half our time walking that day.

14122006425

We have finally ‘found’ them ! The entrance to the ‘bazaar’. And people !!

14122006426

We found some pretty weird things there. We haven’t seen one of these lately.

14122006428

The entire ‘bazaar’ was a 2km stretch. Next stop was the Sunday Book Bazaar.

14122006443

The GPS did help through the narrow streets.

14122006444

We had walked past Jama Masjid many times earlier. But never had we bothered to go inside. And this time we did.

14122006450

14122006452

It was nice inside.

And well ! This is was it ! Old Delhi

Dumbest Solution Ever

In my last post I was talking about the contest which was organised. There was a particular question. This is the question –

E-Commerce R-Us recently discovered that their e-commerce site did not include a credit card number verification operation on the data that the user submitted for buying their software. The company decided to hire you and your team to develop a credit card validation program. You will be provided with a credit card number with the length varying from 13 digits to 16 digits. The algorithm is a simple mod 10 operation. Each number of the credit card is weighted by either 2 or 1. The credit card number must be zero-filled on the left to create a sixteen digit number, and then the pattern starts with 2, alternating with a 1. If the number multiplied by the weight results in a 2-digit number, each digit is added to the sum. The final sum with the check digit should be a multiple of 10.

Input Format: The user will provide you with a credit card number without spaces.

Output Format: The program will return “Valid” or “Invalid” depending on the success or failure of the check digit.

 Input:
5499001100120034
 Output:
Valid
 Input:
5499001100120036
 Output:
Invalid

The question is so easy that you needn’t even solve it.

But now comes the main part, a team from 1st year submitted the following solution. Read it and laugh aloud !! 😀

#include<stdio.h>
#include<conio.h>
void main()
{
long int a;
printf(“enter value of credit card”);

scanf(“%d”,&a);
if(a==5499001100120034)
printf(“valid\n”);
else
printf(“invalid”);
getch();
}

318890.jpg First of this is my first ever gadget review.

For the past few weeks my blog has been getting around 10-20 views daily because on the Dell Inspiron Article I had posted earlier. So I thought why not write a complete review. I myself own a Dell Inspiron 6400.

The old Dell Inspiron had just one drawback, it wasn’t appealing for some of the people. The appearance of a laptop depends on your viewpoint. Actually the old inspiron didn’t have a sleak look (as the HP Laptops have with them).

But the new Dell Inspiron is just PERFECT !!

The new sleek look. Some very exciting colors (oh ! I really miss this one). And a 2 Mega pixel camera. A faster processor. Lots of hard disk. 1 Gig of memory. etc. etc.

Check out some more Laptops

If You Cant Convince Them, Confuse Them.

Although most of you might have read it somewhere, the reason why I am writing this here is because I think, there is something special about it and also we as engineers apply this the most (specially when we are asked something, like our vivas).

Back after a Break

So what if i haven’t been contributing to the blogging world since a month. The blog has been receiving some steady traffic. Almost 900 visits. And Even Google is redirecting some traffic to the blog.

Well, I have had a tough September, and all along i was like – ‘Wake me up when September ends….’ (Wish I had Slept Through It).

Anyways now that it is over. Why don’t I look back into all of this.

First of all we just concluded Murious (Our Techfest). Well it was a success and some new events were organized.

I managed to get just one pic of the event Junkyard Wars. And just to be sure that you are not seeing cakes, these are bridges made of ice-cream sticks ( some may seem silly !!).

On the other hand there were a couple of robotics events as well.

Nokia offers battery replacement after ‘incidents’

Nokia is offering to replace specific phone batteries after some “dislodge” during charging.

“There have been approximately 100 incidents of over heating reported globally,” said the company. “No serious injuries or property damage have been reported.”

46 million BL-5C batteries are affected. “Nokia has identified that in very rare cases the affected batteries could potentially experience over heating initiated by a short circuit while charging, causing the battery to dislodge,” said the firm.

I checked for my battery and it was also one of those affected.

Hope my new battery comes soon enough…..
